Hello everyone. I am only a beginner at collecting coins and i recently acquired a 1835 Norway 1 Speciedaler Silver Coin. Well unfortunately it came with a small hole drilled in it. I see when they are sold in normal condition that they fetch good money so I'm curious as to the worth of mine with the damage. Any feedback would be appreciated….thank you.

It's a good question, you have several answers, here is the worst outcome, but it's defended by a lot of our members: The hole “disqualifies” the coin's value down to the melt value of the alloy! Others think differently, but you'll probably never get more than 25% of the market price for a holed coin.

Hello. I have to ask, you didn't know there was a hole in it before you bought it?

It is still a nice coin. The hole is part of its history.
