Good start for my 1913 - 1938 nickel album, since I recently finished my Jefferson 1938 - album.  I need help on grade of this worn buffalo, could it be VG? Thanks

Not sure if you are aware of the attached link for help in and refining your skills in grading U.S coins but please see the attached. Having said that. what I see is a 1914 D Buffalo Nickel in G4-G6 condition. Not the best condition but the good news is that this is a better date/mint combination and desirable and valuable in even the lower grades such as this example.  A very good starter coin for a Buffalo Nickel collection.

Compare                   G6                                                              Your example

I appreciate the link to that site. I will familiarize myself a lot more with this help. I did not even know the G scale existed. I look forward to starting my new Buffalo album with this coin. I see I need to work on the photo edit quality, too! Do you have any photo apps you recommend?  I think the next coin I post will be my 1832 AU Bust Half Dol. It is ungraded but seems cleaned like my graded 1838 NGC coin. Thank you again for your advice.

Your photos are fine as is so far. I just use the photo editor that was already installed on my computer when I purchased it so I cant really help you with that. Maybe you have the ability already in your computer and are  just unaware of it but  maybe another member can help you and recommend something aftermarket.  As far as grading, use the link attached. Very detailed and different from how some other countries grade their coins but this scale is what the major grading companies use and is pretty much accepted around the world.
