We have Nordic gold (not gold at all) and German silver (not silver at all), so do we need Nickel silver?

Why don't we use German silver all over?

We don't have German silver.
Neu Silber (new silver) was German Silver, which I always thought was nickel silver.
Numista doesn't have German Silver as a composition. They are all listed as either Nickel Silver or Nickel Brass.

So why don't we introduce it as a fully logical parallel to Nordic gold? I seem to remember a massage saying the “German Silver” is a copyrighted definition, but honestly, I can't really believe that?
Because then there would be all kinds of posts asking how much silver is in my German silver coin like they do for nickel silver coins.
Here's a good post on the subject. https://en.numista.com/forum/topic92292.html
I think the difference here is that, neu silber - german silver - nickel silver can be used to fool people into thinking there is a silver content, especially as there isn’t much difference in the weight and colour of silver coins compared to nickel silver. You only have to look at the amount of people asking for help to identify silver coins over copper nickel coins within the forum. And that can lead to people trying to trick people into paying more than a coin is worth because it has or has not silver in it, etc.
With Nordic Gold, 99.9% of people know it doesn’t have any gold in it, the colour and weight are all wrong, so no one is getting fooled.
