I have this gold coin but the details mentioned on this site are not the same as what it stated on my certificate.

This is what's on the certificate (50mm x 57mm)

This is to certify that this Legal Tender QUEEN MOTHER CROWN is an official issued by the Isle of Man Government Commemorating the 80th ANNIVERSARY OF HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH THE QUEEN MOTHER - 1900-1980 and is strictly limited as hereunder

Edition

Weight .375 Gold Proof

World Wide Issue limit 50,000

Signed;

For The Isle of Man Treasury : For Pobjoy Mint Limited

Questions

1) Should there be another one minted not mentioned here?

2) Any idea of it's current value? Not bullion value.

Strictly limited 50,000, is a lot in my opinion.

I have had this coin since 1980.

Thanks

True, Krauze catalogues also says mintage 50.000. of course, this is a maximum limit. We don't know what is real mintage, I guess much lower but could be still high number.

I guess the mintage 1000 refers to the 22ct Gold (.917). Already adjusted mintage figures on Numista.

Value - hard to say. Should be bullion value plus maybe 10%. With this limit, the coin is not a super rare that make the value pik.

Updated value: two pieces sold on eBay already in 2025: one for 121 GBP, another one for 124GBP. So,  looks like below the bullion value. Last year prices were little more better (140£ in October).

If you have this coin with CoA, feel free to add photo of certificate to the comment section.

I just checked and .917 gold version has mintage 5000. Possible that old entry in Numista about 1000 pieces was kind of information from one of packaging version that could be limited to 1000 pieces only.

@Mmowiec, thanks for the info. I will add the COA and perhaps an image of the entire packaging when I scan more banknotes the next time. BTW, does your catalogue mention anything about the issue price? I forgot to record such details back then (date purchase, price etc). I believe I paid around 30GBP+ or 50GBP+/- back then.

Thanks
