Poland 2 Zloty 2017 - Small differences in eagle

I have been looking at my Polish Zloty and found that there are some small differences in the design of the eagle on the 2017 coins.  On some coins, the top of the legs are closer to the wings and the neck is thicker.  The wings also seem bigger too and the tail is thicker.  Anyone else found this too?  These are the best two coins I have, but I have others with similar differences.

Good eyes Ole needs to see them.  Great catch LDC63

It is, what it is, or is it.

Do you have multiple examples of other denominations? Do you see the same difference there?

I'm checking other dates, but nothing yet.  However, these are some of my better examples, which is why I've put this out there.

Maybe someone else has access to similar good condition coins with other dates and the same variation - maybe one of our Polish friends could have a look.

Better photos in the daylight (maybe???)…

OK, I might agree, there is a measurable difference at the tail feathers. I'll take a look at that tomorrow. @doc_man ?

To me, the width of the neck is what made me look twice at these coins.  That may also be worth measuring.

Hi,

They called him “Hawkeye” in the days, now he  is back on the warpath.

Already in 2007 you found similar, but I never noticed, since I was more occupied with the point around the dates 🤭 The Y# is wrong…

I wanted to use that for the 2017 coins, but then I saw the eagles 😆

so maybe I just need to add all the years with meager and fat eagles, but I don't have all the years, so we need help from Polish collectors please? 2007 and 2017 are already known.

Thanks for your help to make our coin community richer.

Ole

The 2007

The 2017, not so obvious, but defendable. No missing HOOK, though?

Looks good, but the first thing that was obvious to me was the width of the neck.  Maybe, focusing other hunters of minor differences on the mint mark and its surrounding area is a good thing though.

Also, it may be worth a note about the dot/no dot on the outer rim of the Obverse of the 2007 not being a defining factor here.  Thanks Ole

I don't know if the dots on the 2007 are a defining factor or not, hence I have the dot and fat/meager eagles as two DIFFERENT graphics.

Here is the 2017 more as you like it, we still wait for more info about the other years.

What strikes me the most is not the thick/thin neck or thick/thin tail feathers but the difference in wideness of the in between feathers of the wings:

A good variety is one you could see with the naked eye without measuring anything and without the need to have both varieties to compare. I don't believe you can see the difference in the neck or in the tail feathers with the naked eye or without comparing. However when I look at OP's pictures I do believe you can see the difference in wideness of the in between feathers of the wings with the naked eye and without comparing.

Anyway, keen eye of the OP. I wouldn't have noticed it without the OP pointing at it.
