Known good online sellers (ebay and others)

Thanks to a prompt from Oklahoman 🙂 I am going to start this thread which is about known good sellers.

I am going to specify what that means, if you want to add to this thread:

1. You personally bought from the seller on two or more occasions

2. The description of the note was accurate (both the condition and the type)

Because innocent mistakes happen, it will be helpful to add what corrective measures were taken when a problem was found. How did they make it right?

These are my picks, I will add more as I find them:

1. yuri111 | eBay Stores based in the US. Multiple purchases, so far all correct, no mistakes. I have bought 60 notes from him and another 20 are on the way as of writing this.

2. Roncal Banknotes | eBay Stores based in Germany. Multiple purchases, so far all correct. In one order there was a mistake where I ordered two of a note and he shipped only one. He immediately refunded me. I have bought 55 notes from him.

3. Ebanknoteshop an online store where the owners are based in the UK. Multiple purchases, totaling 43 notes. Condition was perfect on all of them but one note was the wrong date. They immediately offered to refund it but I made a deal to get the required note at a discount instead.

4. Ireland UK banknotes | eBay Stores based in Armagh Northern Ireland, UK. Two purchases, less than 9 notes, all good.
 

5. Notability Banknotes | eBay Stores  based in England, UK. Multiple purchases, all good. I bought 10 notes.

6. 1234note | eBay Stores based in the US. Multiple purchases, one order had two damaged notes. He refunded those without me having to return them. I got them in a subsequent order, all good. I bought 30 notes.

We reviewed this topic several times.  Here's one of the last threads we discussed our personal favourites. Noteshobby has since set up his own site which is far better than eBay (& provides you a 5% discount). 

Since that thread & in the past 2 years, eBay has become exceptionally difficult for me to continue to support.  First, I tried to sell some banknotes & discovered most friends couldn't find my listings even once I provided them with my eBay ID.  I later learned that the odds were stacked against me (all little buyers) b/c the platform uses algorithms to direct traffic to their “Power Sellers.” They allow fly-by-night sellers to sell fakes & tie me up with red tape. 

Second, I have struggled to get combined shipping too often.  You can reach out to these sellers (& they will promise you they will adjust) but your cart will still add shipping rates & its 50/50 whether they will re-adjust the total to the rate you expect. I found this a problem with both Yuri & 1234Note (Power Sellers). You will not win a case with a “Power Seller” & their shipping is more than a seller from Thailand. This is not the sellers' faults but usually eBay's platform set up (b/c most sellers I've contacted had no idea it wasn't working).

I often try to contact sellers from the “Buy&Sell” or Trading Posts on some of the active forums.   This how I sell my doubles.

I agree with you regarding eBay. Since they started charging us tax (at the request of our government), I have now bought less from them. Many years ago, when buying from eBay, it provided you with the seller's email details when checking out via Paypal. I used to record down all the details so that should I want to buy again from the same seller, I just contact them and ask for the best price (discount). This way, I get some discount (mostly between 5-10%. Bear in mind that even if you have their personal contact details, not all of them are willing to sell directly to you. I am not sure why.

I have made five purchases totaling 30 notes and they were all perfect. Not only that, but she answers emails promptly and will try to give you a mix of series numbers if you ask. I've done this for several orders of Ecuador Sucres for example

I've bought from Yuri many times when I was still in the U. S with no problems. I plan to buy again when I go back sometime this year.

Yes to 1234note, many times. Description always accurate and always delivered on time and packaged well.

He still has more stock on eBay but it is worth checking on Delcampe first because it will be cheaper. He had almost 400 notes on Delcampe and 2000 notes on eBay last time I checked. I rate this seller as probably the best of them, overall. I now have bought well over 100 notes from him.

Thanks for this referral @odd job.  I just received my 2nd order from Kate & all the notes were UNC (as described). She didn't have the quantities I wanted but provided a couple “toughies” like this P-167 100 Pesos from the DR. I have searched for this note for some time & was happy with the low # examples she provided me (& many other great “tough” notes fairly priced). Many thanks! 👌👍

I find sellers on Discord servers (reputable ones) quite trustworthy and reliable, as well as big names on eBay.
What notes do you guys usually look for to buy from online sources?
Physical dealers for me provide the most useful and hard-to-get notes
