A very nice stack! and at 17, you've got some very interesting pieces. Is that Gold in that American set? 

Yes it is! However i believe it's gold plated but I'll have to check the COA, I got the set a little over 8 years ago

They are the first and last 50 States Quarters released (Delaware, Hawaii). The US Mint did not make those in gold so they have to be plated by the 3rd party that put the set together.

What I do is I try to buy in actual stores to save on postage and tax costs but if there aren't any near you then I suggest buying online.

When buying online definitely filter by the location of shipping to avoid high postage fees and check the tax laws in your country to make sure you won't have to pay more money.

You call that a stack?  I don't even see anything 2 coins high!

Know who you are buying from.

On e-bay, or other such markets, only buy from established coin businesses with stores and many sales.

Expect to pay a fair price. Low price is cause for suspicion.

There are very many counterfeits in the market.

There are also plenty of other places to shop.

 If you have the slightest doubt, move on.
