Hello all. I used to collect  Lincoln pennie’s  as a kid and just slowly lost interest. The interest is back with a vengeance! I’ve been digging through my nickels and came across this. I’m new to the concept of error coins but this is now my main obsession. I would be grateful if someone here with more expertise than I could tell if this is an error or post mint damage to both sides of the coin. Thanks in advance!

Welcome back to numismatics, and also welcome to numista.

I would call it a “lamination” error, but I'm known to err from time to time😄

My guess is PMD.

If you look at the reverse between the words FIVE CENTS, you can see the effects of a strong impact to Jefferson's head obverse.

The coin as a whole is very much PMD🙃
