I’m wondering if anyone can shed some light on a coin I found vergeside collecting a few years ago. It has been tested and is 75% silver and weights 14.2g. I believe the outside rim reads ” CONCORD RES __ PARVE. The __ is two letters I can’t really make out and the N in Concord is back the front. I’ve come up trumps so far as to its nationality or story. I’m leaning towards Dutch /Spainish. I know CONCORDIA RES PARVE CRESCENT is I believe a Dutch saying. Thanks for any info that may help me understand more about a coin that really intrigues me as I am a novice coin collector mysel.
Welcome to Numista. A preliminary search comes up empty for me so far. Lots of similar but it is a strange combination of cross on one side and shield on the other. Meantime, cropped photos with lighting altered. Perhaps you could try providing better photos as these are rather blurry and off color. Is that a 1633 date I see? I would not rule out a replica of something as well. Letters and what I think is a date look off.
Unfortunately my conclusion is that this is some sort of hybrid replica. Octolobe that is not really an octolope. Cross that is not really a Spanish style Florenzada cross (arrow tips?) No castles, no lions, contemporary lettering. Shield has random symbols. I see too many conflicting issues. Perhaps other members can see something that I am not seeing. Sorry.
I agree with harryg that this is just some kind of fantasy token. One side is vaguely Dutch, the other Spanish, but they have never appeared together on a real coin.
