Anybody know anything about these overprints? Is there anything official about them?

The top one is offered for a lot of money, but nothing to be found from reliable websites … (both items offered on the websites have the same pictures, the ones I'm offered have different ones)

No new swaps for the moment, still too many half-ongoing swaps to clean up!

I can't read those texts, but I have a feeling that it may have been done privately, not by the central bank. Perhaps ask the seller why, and what do those over prints mean?

On the other hand, I could be wrong too. 😁

Good luck

My seller has no clue what he is selling … but the link you sent is just another offer with exactly the same note as the two I had already found (3 times same serial number). So whatever it is (souvenir, hajj, political overprint,  …) there are not many offered. And the second note I posted above, I can't find another one anywhere.

Might take my chance and hopefully someday discover the source ;-)

Unless I am wrong about this, I believe that if this was an official overprint, they would not have the text overlapping on the original feature. If you look at the test, it is also printed on the serial number. If this was official, they would have made the text smaller and fit nicely on the watermark area.

This is the reply from the eBay seller:-

I, personally, do not believe it is worth the value the paper is printed on. 😁

Thanks. Confirms my suspicion of private issue … hopefully one day we can find the source. In the meantime, I'll just offer the price of paper for them 😇

I do enjoy collecting overprint notes but it has to be notes authorised by the relevant authority.

There are a few listings on eBay selling with private overprints. These are not printed on genuine banknotes as they do not have watermarks etc. I do not know if these are authorised due to the current conflict.

However, despite saying this, I did have one or two notes that were privately printed and it is worth collecting.

This is a ‘No Parking’ sign note 😁
