Hello,
We introduced a new field to the catalogue to record the date of issue. We can also record that a coin or banknote was never issued (unissued).

Excellent another great feature! Especially as more mints are releasing non-circulated coins as we go slowly cashless.

When you click the i next to the field it doesn't show the correct information, talks about demonitization.
Thanks for reporting the issue. I added the correct guidelines.
The Non-issued banknotes type should then be removed.
Thanks, Xavier. Great improvements!
What about coins with multiple issue dates (such as this Costa Rican example)?

Aren't most Proof coins issued on dates different than the circulation coins (at least in the US). In your example the coin is a Circulating commemorative coin but the Proof isn't released to circulate so the date should be only for the Circulating commemorative coin.

That makes sense. I was also thinking about coins with multiple years. Would we just be listing the first issue? Also, what if the non-circulating version is released first?
Also, if a coin was scheduled for circulation but never issued, should it be listed as a pattern, non-circulating coin, or standard circulating coin (example)?
I have all 5 2025 Proof US quarters. Some of the circulation versions won't be released for many months. I think the issue date should be the date issued for general use.
If a coin was meant for circulation but never released it should stay as circulating coin with the never issues tag. Here is a recent discussion on such a coin. https://en.numista.com/forum/topic109619.html
Banknotes have an object type Non-issued banknotes for them but I think that is now redundant and should be eliminated as I posted above.
Awesome, for medals is this field left blank?

I would enter the first date of release. That's when the type was first issued. The other dates can be entered in the comments. I updated the guidelines accordingly.

Not necessarily. For example, some souvenir medals have an official release date, which would be interesting to specify.
Nice improvement, should we add in the guide lines that this date should be following the Gregorian calendar?
Die verwendete Zeitzone ist UTC+2:00.
Die aktuelle Zeit ist 12:04.
