Hello everyone  .

Who can advise if is proof morgan and if wgat grade wil be ….nice rainbow on the eagle and liberty face forming ….definitely  keeper .I have good feelings with this coin .personali I would gave with  little luck Pr60??

Link the coin on a post. Or go to the coin page, and click on „discuss or ask a question“ at the very bottom, then the coin will automatically be linked.

It is not a Proof, coincidentally have you had your 2.5 Dollars back from grading yet?

This coin is XF at best…

2.5 dollar  grading will take up to 8 weeks from uk 🙂

One they will find proof morgam .Any to me is higer grade then XF ..maybe in wrong but if I compare photos looking better for sure then XF but probably  I'm wrong

I habe found another 2.5 but 1910 and is amazing like ms 64

But new 2.5 is just ms for sure not proof .but my first 2.5 should be like a proof one .we will see in near future

You do understand that Proof is not a grade? Even a Proof coin that was put into circulation with wear, scratches, etc. is still a Proof coin.  A non-proof coin with absolutely no wear of any kind may look perfect but cannot get a Proof grade. There were only 762 1896 Morgan Dollar Proofs made. Yours is not one of them.

How you can say this ??? Just wondering to know what signs  looking for .photos always not the best .really life coins looks better even with 30x zoom

And i know what is proof coin …I know how grading system works and to me this morgan is a proof one .or like proof one .habe lots of mirror around …..Can I ask if is ok to sink in to aceton coin or will damage ??

new5elements

And i know what is proof coin …

I don't think you do.  Can you see the difference of these coins?

MS67 Not a Proof
PR67 Proof

Yes obviously… the photo made a dark luster from the mirror effect… but what if from circulation most of mirror is gone ??I know even bad handling of proof coin can damage surface or gave finger prints .just trying to learn something  I'm asvance beginner haha

But mirror  would only be if the coin was kept in the right conditions and humidity. If the coin was treated badly after 100 years it is not easy to recognize

The details of your coins simply are not that of a proof coins. Even an impaired proof that is not too far gone would have sharper details then your specimen and like you can see on the pictures there are other small differences between the business strike and the proof.

If you still want to stay by calling it proof you can do that but don't expect other people to concur with that opinion.

I was just asking. Im not qualified enough to argue with someone, I'm trying to understand and to understand i need find answers .I'm not trying made proof just in my head haha .Soon I will have Pr67 from ngc I will study coin will help me find this invisible details for me .Photos don't make easier ….all depend from camera not a coin

To me, the rim is the biggest difference in the proof version.  It's perfectly centered and every element identical.

Acetone, if pure, will not hurt your non-proof coin.
