Hello

Has anyone seen the 20 Kroner  or 20 kroner 2023 with new portrait of the Queen. The central Bank of Denmark confirmed it was circulated but said they do not stock any more and to try my luck with banks, stores, dealers and collectors (in a very rude manner) , None of the dealers seem to have this  which I could make out online nor is it on ebay.

The 2024 commemorative is easily available for 30 kroner locally in Copenhagen but not the 2023 circulating coins.

I will be in Copenhagen next month. Can anyone suggest where to get these 2 coins?

Hej Shamik,

I don't believe they exist : https://www.nordfrim.dk/soeg?s=danske%20moenter%202023

I found this:

Thanks for the link, but obviously you cannot buy them yet.

Ucoin has a 20 Kroner that looks like it came from circulation (LINK) the 10 looks like a proof (LINK).

Ole,

The national bank told me they are all circulated 20K and 10 K and they do not have any stock left and they do not  oblige catalogers and collectors (they basically told me literally go and try my luck at banks, stores , dealers and said they do not have any accredited dealer for the 2023 coins  and they will not help me further)

So either like in India , someones hoarded  the 20K and 10 K .. and I am trying my best to find some

You will be in Copenhagen next month, so just try to look for it really hard

Did you know that Pluto is still a planet in Illinois and New Mexico and has de facto recognition as a planet in Arizona?

Yes  thats why I am doing my groundwork… I went To sofia without doing groundwork and  didnt get a single coin  I needed ( I also thought they celebrate orthodox Xmas but in reality they have switched to Gregorian X Mas so everything was closed)

Shamik,

A bit off topic, but just wanted to clarify that Bulgaria does celebrate Orthodox Christmas as most people are Orthodox and not Catholics there. Most countries that do have official Orthodox holidays use New Julian calendar (so Christmas coincides with Gregorian calendar on Dec 25th), unlike russia e.g. that uses Julian calendar and they celebrate Christmas on Jan 7 by Gregorian calendar.

Hi Rupert

No I could not find . National Bank said they do  not stock coins and to contact dealers and collector clubs. No dealer or collector I know had these coins and they said to try at supermarkets which I could not as I was using cards and not local coins. They said the rolls may contain or may not contain these coins so no dealer tried

Well I had no clue about Orthodox countries having adapted New Julian.
