Two questions concerning this coin:

¼ Qirsh - Abd al-Azīz (Hejaz and Nejd and dependencies) - Hejaz and Nejd (1926-1932) – Numista

First: The “Orientation” line on the webpage for this coin correctly states its orientation is medal alignment, but the photograph of the obverse of the coin at the top of the webpage is upside-down, making it look like the coin has coin alignment instead of medal alignment (not sure how to correct that).

Second: A general question for coins like this one (with a date from a different calendar system than the AD system). The AH date for this coin indicates it could have been minted during 1927 or 1928 (or during both years).

I prefer to have an AD date for all of the coins in my collection for consistency (I can't always remember the conversions for other calendar systems). I am interested in how other collectors handle this issue - if you also tend to use the AD calendar for all of your coins, what AD date or dates would you use for this coin?

There doesn't seem to be a consensus on this question in the major databases for information on coins.

Numista gives this coin an AD date of 1928 (do we know for sure it was only minted in 1928?)

Numismaster gives two AD dates for this coin: (1927-1928).

The SCWC only gives the beginning of the AH year on the AD calendar for AH dates; in this case it lists “July 1, 1927” for the AH date of 1346 on its Hejira Date Conversion Chart (so 1927?)

NGC only uses the AH date for this coin.

I am thinking the Numismaster practice is best (using dual dates in the AD calendar system for coins minted with an AH calendar date), but I am interested in how others handle this question for their coin collection.

Thanks.

I created a change request to replace the picture. I saved the image and used GIMP to rotate it.

When the AD date isn't fully known I believe the correct approach for dates is the the AH date and the range of date for AD (1927-1928). I'm usually lazy and just use one of the years.
