What is it in this German coin? [gelöst]

I have this coin, a 1 Reichspfennig from 1933, and it has this protrusion that looks like a beetle, and it looks like it's welded onto it.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Maybe hot metal was dripped onto the coin some time after minting?

I don't think so, it's very uniform and symmetrical, and it really look like a beetle, 2 eyes and 6 legs. In addition, the weld seems to be another metal, probably tin.

I received this as a free gift in an auction lot, and the piece really intrigued me. At first glance it looked like a manufacturing error, but apparently it was something added later. I've seen coins marked with stamps, but something like this is new.

And the other side of the coin?

There's nothing special on the other side, just some apparently recent scratches and signs that there was an attempt to clean it. But for me, nothing that can be related to the other side.

Since I'm not home right now, I don't have a photo, but as soon as I get back, I can send a photo.

If it is indeed a bug (ladybug) it is most likely a Lucky Penny ("Glückspfennig") that someone made.

That's cool, I didn't know that. Thanks. As I said, it came as a gift, it seems that luck is on my side.
