Hello

I found a George Washington on one side and Abraham Lincoln on the other side. On the front it says George Washington the Father of His Country and on the reverse side it says: AB. Lincoln the preserver of His country. Has anyone ever seen a token like this before?

Yes

Can you tell me anything abou it?

Sorry, no. I remember seeing something similar but could have been this one or similar:  N#191200

Thank you. it is close but It isn’t it

It's not in the catalogue - perhaps you could add it?

There is a listing in this book

https://en.numista.com/literature/volume.php?id=2316

That mentions a medal with that lettering and a bust of Washington facing right and bust of Lincoln facing right on each side. Is the any writing on the bust of Washington at the truncation? An example would be on the Lincoln penny you will find VDB at the truncation point of Lincoln.

Diameter? If you can't measure it, can you give an idea compared to a coin? Pictures?

A page has been created, and not yet published. Pictures therefrom >

Token - George Washington and Abraham Lincoln - obverse Token - George Washington and Abraham Lincoln - reverse

Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins

According to the reference above there should be a name on both sides at the bottom of the busts. I can see something below Lincoln, but I cannot make out anything below Washington.

For some reason those pictures added are not clickable - trying again

with yes below Lincoln ?ARR lettering on lower left. Then for a while

it did indeed seem nothing below Washington, until I enlarged

where in large letters actually on the base of the portrait is MARR lettering.

The reference says the following

Baker 231 - 31mm White metal

Baker 231A - 31mm Vulcanite

MARR at base of both busts

Both plain edges, says on Baker 231, R-8 only 10 struck

Nothing further provided on Baker 231A
