which note is more valuable: P165 (C105) from 1960 or P173a (C054) from 1961?

PMG values the latter 4x higher but I think one should take their judgement with a pinch of salt…

If you add a link to the notes you´re talking about could i spire others to reply.

Sure, here they are:

Not my field of expertise, but I do notice the 1961 note seems to be less common among numista members. So if you compare them by yearline the 1961 might be harder to get hold of … for me not so important as I collect by type and then P173 is more common with the multiple years.

Maybe someone with a Brazilian catalogue can help you out with prices, but I tend to believe the numista values give a good idea … and when there are no values it means not many people own a certain yearline.

1960 is less common with rarity index 51 vs 35 for 1961, correct?

But that value is for the whole type … if you specifically  want the 1961 note, it looks like less common (smaller mintage + part of a much larger type).

P173a 1961 (NRI 35 25%) 44 Numista members have 1 in their collection
