Hello , I need some information about this coins lot.

Recently I have purchased for coins. They were minted in tin. I would like to register each coin in numista, but I don't know exactly where they are from.

I think they were minted in Bangka Island, but I don't sure . They have one face engraved, the other one is flat.

Saludos

Have you tried looking the ones documented by Mitchiner & Yih https://www.orientalnumismaticsociety.org/archive/ONS_217.pdf or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Recherches_sur_les_monnaies_des_indig%C3%A8nes_de_l%27archipel_Indien_et_de_la_p%C3%A8ninsule_Malaie_-_Henricus_Christiaan_Millies_(1871).pdf Millies old catalogue?

Hi , i have been searching using the documents and the coins don't appear . It's going complicated to locate.

Then the type is undocumented, which is not too surprising for tin coins from Bangka.

Try to look at Zeno as a last resort, which can be use as link in the coin's page. If you can't find it either, then just request the coin page with with added comment that it is not yet documented.

At this moment I have the transcription of each coin with help. The letterings are the following:

新 號 瑞 原   (Xīn hào ruìyuán)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

中 仕  (Zhōng shì )

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

大 和 号为 (Dà hé hào wèi)

Great , Thank you very much @by.abay, I will notice you if I found them on Zeno.

Greetings

Hi @by.abay I have been searching the coins in Zeno and don't appears , so they are undocumented.

One question, in numista page creator… I have to name (the title)only the coin without the face value? The value is unknown. Cash , Jokoh… don't know

Thanks in advance

I think the unit should just be “cash” like existing bangka coin: N#108066

Alright, thanks!!!

Hi @by.abay , what type of script is used here, in this coin?

Transcription

I have problems to transcript this group of Kangis for this tin coin:

1rst

2nd

3rd

I know that the last one is

that is in seal script style. The second character is 字. I'm afraid I don't recognize the modern equivalent of 1st and 3rd character. 3rd maybe 開? but not sure

Thanks @by.abay , so it's a debased seal script, interesting.

I think the same about 3rd character, it's more approximated to the original. First one could be 東   , there are lots of characters, not easy as I see , so let's investigate.

So at the moment we could have (東)開字号, as the possible transcription .

I will write you if I have something new

東 in seal script is

So it's possible this evolution?

Hi @by.abay how I can write in seal  script in numista? Is there a tool for that ?

thanks

You just input the modern Chinese equivalent in the lettering field, then choose Chinese (seal) in the script field
