RPC 2201- Mark Antony/ Octavia - Tetradrachm- Joe Geranio photo collection.

RPC 1 2201- Cistophoric Tetradrachm, mint at Ephesus.  Mark Antony on obverse with head right wearing ivy wreath with lituus below. Inscription:  M ANTONIVS IMP COS DESIG ITER ET TERT =  Imperator, Mark Anton, named consul for the third time. This issue is usually not as in good shape as this specimen, soon after 42 BC, after the battle of Philippi, problems arose between Octavian and Antony; in an attempt to reconcile Antony married Octavia.  On the reverse we have a wonderful portrait of Octavia in draped bust with Cista Mystica, flanked by snakes in fighting positions, with heads erect/.
