The Qunduz/Hisar 2-dinar (907 AH) coin was often a re-strike of a predecessor coin. This type was struck in three cities in the Transoxiana region (Hisar, Qunduz, Termez, Which are the 907AH 2-dinar coin from, too). It includes three varieties, and they are unrelated to the mint city.

Zeno #331853 shows the year:

في التاريخ ستّ و تسعمائة

"in the history of 906(AH)".

The year is not fixed, there are also show 80X AH:

في التاريخ … وثا من مائة

"in the history of … in hundred (years)"

(This is an abbreviation of “and eight hundred years”)

In Steven Album, this type was assigned A-Q3280. And there is another auction recordin Sep 2012.

Examples of this type are rarely found in complete condition; contributions of images from personal collections are greatly appreciated. Shown here is an example struck in Hisar that was later re-struck in Qunduz to the 2-dinar denomination.

Very interesting, l have a number of these, some of which l have on zeno inc the  scarce mint Tirmidh which has an antelope with extra long horns

Hello, I've seen your coin on World of Coins. Regrettably, most users there are unaware of this predecessor type; it was mentioned in just one post but not identified. It took me a year and a half to find enough samples online to reconstruct its design. The undertype's design may remained visible after the overstrike, which sometimes causes confusion among newcomers when attributing the 2-dinar coins.

A rare issue of 2-dinar from Termez.

Termez, Hisar, and Qunduz are now located in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan, respectively. Among the predecessor types, the Termez variant is the scarcest.

For decades, far fewer coins were minted in Termez than in Hisar or Qunduz, either because of specific minting policies or simply lower local demand.
