Hello,

this is mistakenly marked as issuing entity change, while it should probably be marked as rulling authority change, or issuer change? Anyway, please make one thread per request, longer forum posts are confusing and harder to follow.

So, I think if we follow this idea, we split Indian States >  Maratha Empire (3d level issuer) like this:

Indian States > Maratha - Baroda (Gaekwads)

Indian States > Maratha - Gwalior (Scindias)

Indian States > Maratha - Indore (Holkars)

> Sironj Feudatory

> Mehidput Feudatory

Indian States > Maratha - Kolhapur (Bhonslas)

> Kingdom of Thanjavur

The other possibility is that we explore combining Indian States and Indian Princely States where we already have all of these places (in the geography sense), and Maratha becomes a period.

Thanks!!

for The  Maratha empire we  can do the first option as it is a very complex section

Following up on Jarcek's first reaction back in Sept., we already have Gwalior, Indore and Baroda as issuers.  Why not use Maratha Empire as a Period for those issuers, and then add the specific rulers as Ruling Authorities.  Otherwise we just wind up duplicating  sub-issuers in multiple places.

The only fix that a period would do is to somewhat solve the problem with dispersed ruling authorities, however a problem such as seen in Afghanistan could arise with the different coins of the Maratha empire being dispersed across several issuers in the catalogue, also the several sub issuers which were noted would go best in an issuer format such as seen with the mongol empire. So I believe we should just create sub-issuers within the Maratha empire to encompass the history of the independent kingdom and ease for finding coins within the issuer, regards
