I have a 1965 Kennedy Half dollar that has errors front and back. Looking for discussion if this was possible or manipulated after minted.

Hello. Please take pictures out of the flip and pictures of the edge at the top and bottom and a weight and thickness.

How do you know it's 1965? Just from the flip?

I think it's possible that it was struck on a wrong planchet, a quarter being the most likely (24.6 mm finished coin).  I also think it's possible somebody took a normal coin to a grinding wheel for some reason.

I got permission to take it out of the plastic case and inspected it. It was grinded down.

Good to know. Thanks for the reply.  Was somebody selling it?

i Am doing an evaluation on a coin collection for a lady. This was in her collection. Somebody seen me post this on here and has offered $125 for it. She said she will sell it to him. Is there something special about this coin that I am not aware about.

This coin has been damaged post-mint so is only worth the metal or some curiosity value. If someone offers a high price knowing it is a damaged coin all I can come up with is that that person hopes to sell it for a lot more as a genuine error coin.

$1.25 I would believe, $125 is pure fantasy - who’s fantasy is uncertain at this time, but if “someone“ genuinely offered you $125 for this coin after „seeing it on here“ and knowing it is PMD worthless coin, take the $125 to give to the „lady you are evaluating the coins for“ after first saying you „you have 1965 Half Dollar with errors front and back“, because that offer really is the golden ticket.

This forum is often used by scammers to push for acceptance of non-errors and fakes to back up their pathetic stories, they often change their story of where and how they got the coin, are new members and 1 time posters to the forum without ever contributing anything beforehand, and often make outlandish claims of someone offering them ridiculous amounts of money for the coin in question. I am not saying that this is what you are doing, you could be completely genuine, but the push for evidence to back up the holy grail coin has been seen many times before on this forum.
