Please help me find this coin

Hey all,

I am trying to find out what a particular coin that I stumbled across several years ago was.

The coin, from memory, was a gold proof coin, either United Kingdom or Canada (I believe) that was in a Proof Display case. One side had a Thistle on it and the coin itself was relatively thick, and I believe that the denomination was somewhere around 200 to 500 pounds or dollars, not sure which it was. Mintage Date would most likely have been between 1985 to 2005.

Please keep in mind, this is just from memory from wayyy back in 2013. For some reason, this coin suddenly popped in my head as a “coin-worm” (like a music ear-worm but for coins?). Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe this one? N#24797

There are some UK gold coins with thisle, but their denominations are not so crazy:

N#279960

N#101484

N#92708

It was very similar, however it looked more like, again from what I remember, to have been more along the lines of N#108772 = however being gold and with what i remember to be a single thistle in the center of the coin. Again, this was at least 12 years ago that I had seen it, and the mintage date is a tentative range, based on the dates of similar coins in that collection.

Just saw your other links that you posted. Overlooked those as I was seeing the first link.

Out of those provided, the closest would probably be the Queen Mother, however, as I am think about it, I would estimate that it was no larger than a Washington Quarter in diameter and i estimate, based on the case that it was in, that it was roughly 4 to 6mm thick. Based on the pictures of the included Proof Display case, it wasn't the Queen Mother. Based on the sizes of the linked coins, it would lean to the 5 Pence, however I remember that it was a much higher face value. The case was a solo coin display.
