2 india rupees 2000 I.D. error. [gelöst]

Hello everyone. Just seeking for a proper error identification for this 2 india rupees 2000. i can clearly see that there are so many inverted stamping bothe on its obverse and reverse sides. kindly specified the error name for my profile collection display.

 My opinion - overstamp 

There was another coin underneath before this was stamped. 

Maybe the same design, but rotated. 

Traces of lettering and design seen. 

 Will see what other members think though … 

 Maybe a previous 2 Rupee [as in same size] coin was re-used 

 and it was cheaper to just re-stamp them instead of melting. 

So from that one picture what other coins have a circle in an oval design?

I guess it the denominations number 2. Likely similar only inverted…

 I made these from your pictures 

 Ah, what I thought was a circle inside an oval - 

it is a large 2 number, as there is more one side than the other, 

where the circle is not exactly in the middle. 

 Therefore - it is exactly the same coin overstamped. 

The new obverse was the reverse, and vice versa. 

 That error is called a brockage.

 Lastly, just wondering … 

It does not look like a ‘vice job’ made at home, 

as the impressions look to be under the current stampings. 

 Guessing it a double brockage where both sides are reversed - 

so in the mint both dies have a coin stuck in there. Meaning every 

coin going through will have the same error thereafter - until a mint worker 

notices and clears the dies - and investigates to prevent it happening again. 

 Actually looks like it was noticed - and these error coins with a temporary 

backward pressing got put back to go through and be re-stamped. 

that was a very impressive presentation my good Sir. But what i thought was indeed right too. I came to picture in my mind that it was the 2 denominations.

that would precisely brings out concrete results.

i am just using an ordinary cellphone and magnifying lenses.

This coin was struck with clashed dies. It's quite common on Indian coins.
