RIC 1 47, Rome mint, struck 64-65 AD. Beautiful portrait of Nero on obverse with inscription: NERO CAESAR, reverse shows a massive 120 foot colossal of Nero radiate and togate, with branch in right hand, and victory on globe in his left hand. The statue was where the front area of the colossal was in the outside of his Domus Aurea. Nero died in 68 AD, and coliseum construction was not even started until 72 AD , but it shows you the gigantic diameter of his golden house!
