I have a 200 Lire from 1978, i saw on here that the 1979 coin can have no signature but my 1978 coin seems to be missing a signature also.
Anyone tell me whats this about?
Thanks.

It may be there [green] , under all that debris [orange] near
the edge - in this first picture
especially with it being small lettering, clogged by a blocked die.
The Numista page implies that the 1979 “no signature” may be a filled die and says it's not a variant so there probably shouldn't be a seperate year line. @Sjoelund ?
Here are two of my 1978 coins. Both are about the same grade. One has a very pronounced signature. The other has a very light signature.
I think the “no signature” for 1979 and your coin is either filled die or wear or combination of both and not a variant.

When you cannot see something you expected to see (in this case a signature) you cannot know if the signature was on the die or not; or it was there and got filled someway or other. Schröder's cat dilemma.
On the other hand SCWC shows the signature and have no variants with no signature, so the case of the line with NO SIGNATURE is probably not meant to be there at all, since it was most likely caused by a clogged die!!!! I suggest you make a CR to have that line taken out. I have 3 of the 1979 coins, one in my collection with a signature, one of easy access with signature. The 3rd I'll check next time I take a heavy box out for a swap!
Probably too late to ask the year line be removed. With an NRI of 2 for the coin and 4% frequency, several hundred members have added that “variant” since the year line was created (probably at the same time the graphic saying it wasn't a variant was added). Looks like people have bought/traded the "no signature variant" at about 5 times the value of the normal coin.
I'll inform and leave it up to the referee to decide. @cobrapel
I just found another one from 1978 and it has the signature. The other has just a faint sign of a stamp. Both coins look to have the same amount of wear, both coins came from a man who had a jar of coins that he had been keeping from holidays he had been on in the past.
You can see the faint signature when I put both coins beside each other.
