Shops in Taiwan

A friend is visiting Taiwan this month end.

Does anyone of you recommend any shops which he can try?

Take the train to Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall, walk southwest 2 blocks to Guling Street.  There are several shops mostly on the northeast side of the street there. The operating hours and days vary.
