Hi all,
Happy New Year!
Just as 2026 begins, i found a couple of UNC sets of first decimal coinage dated 1968. They are supplied in small plastic booklets which look to me like PVC? I have removed the cardboard interiors containing the coins and the information sheets; Light cleaning with IPA removed some green residue (I know you are not supposed to clean coins) fortunately they still have their luster and shine.
In terms of long term storage; i was thinking of moving the coins into my main collection using Matrix coin sleeves and just wanted to know if anyone would recommend this since it will separate them from the (rather flimsy) plastic book? Or are there any better ways to show off the sets other than keeping the booklets separately and referencing them?
Regards
Justin
