"1909 PENNY COIN-RARE DOT BETWEEN N & E - 1d BRITISH BRONZE COIN-KING EDWARD VII"
…I'm a little sceptical. I can't seem to find any documentation of the variety, but the pictures do look quite convincing and the seller seems reputable. All opinions welcome :)
Many thanks,
J

I also know about that “dot variety”… but I had never seen it before you posted your picture; so I don't really know where the dot should be : “between” E and P or only “after” E.
In any case, I agree with you that the vendor's pictures look quite convincing.
Aha, yes, apologies, I marked this as resolved without explaining myself. I'm glad it caught your interest too. I had a look through my own collection and found that I have managed to get one already with the dot in the same place. It definitely is a variety or perhaps even an error (start of a crack in the die?). It just isn't well documented and seemingly not recognised by the big names like Peck, Freeman, or Gouby.
Here is a photo of mine (~XF) :
Maybe @Sjoelund knows more? He is the expert on all varieties of coins :)
