Good day everybody!

I bought a few dozen old Indian/Muslim coins the other day and I'm struggling to identify quite a lot of them. I put them into a pack and upload them together as their weights and diameters are very similar, even if the coins (if they are coins?) themselves are not. I would appreciate any assistence I can get!

Weight: 10,2-11g. Diameter: 1,4-1,5cm on their shorter sides, 1,6-1,8cm on their longer sides.

They all appear to be different strikes of the following type (or something similar from Hyderabad at least):

Just to give some initial direction, the Sultans of Malwa are known for producing a lot of square coins, but there are also Malwa-style (square) coins made by Mughal rulers. Also, the Elichpur mint is known for producing oddly-shaped coins including some square ones and some the shape of your bottom right coin. None of what I'm saying is very specific but it might give you some directions to look in.

Thanks for your help!

As Vic65 said, most of them are from Hyderabad indeed, now that I have looked up their coins specifically. I browsed through hundreds of Malwa and such coins on Zeno, but found no match so far, but will keep trying and also take a look at the Mughal ones too. However, your direction about the Elichpur mint (Achalpur here on Numista as I found it) led me to identify a coind which I haven't posted yet (N#58113)! 😄 Much appreciated!

Thanks for your help, truly, most (5) of them are from Hyderabad as you said: N#50517.

But I still can't find a match for the following ones: 1, 3 and 8 (now that ZacUK has kindly cropped and numbered them, thanks for that! 😊). Do you think any of the remaining three are the same as the rest of the five identified coins from Hyderabad?

Here is a flan, and a unique type, these were struck on odd planchants, the cm are common, many examples under kachcha paisa on zeno.ru

I looked them up on Zeno as you suggested, but couldn't match them to any of the above coins. Am I missing something?

That's because they are Hyderabad, I have dozens of them accumulated over time and all similar to yours

Alright, your first comment said nearly all of them, so I thought some might not be from Hyderabad. Now then I shall conclude them to be so, thanks for the assistance all of you! 🙂
