The 50 Centimes with French/Dutch words and MEDAL alignment (Normal ones are COIN alignment)
I want one of each (in different languages) any year between 1955 and 2001
OK - I was not sure if you had already contacted members to look for them. I did look at my own; and all are coin alignment, except this one below. If not for the miner's helmet behind the head I would not be sure of the head angle to make the obverse vertical, but I now see I have a 20 degree error among my 50 cents!
Just lucky I guess - I look at every single coin I get, whether they are from a job lot or in pocket change. For example if I go in a shop I always put any change given in a separate pocket and check it later. Not just for alignment, but missing edge milling and so on. I have a bag full of errors - in fact I'll count them now ... there are 64 or so. I show below a UK £2 coin that puzzled me for ages yesterday as to why I had it in amongst other error coins - then I realised why ...
Also here are a few other cool errors - see if you can see what is wrong with them!
The second, meaning of the four, or of the row of three? That UK 20 pence I now moved to the end, as having it next to the Gibraltar 20 pence gave it away somewhat.
So they are >
1 United Kingdom 1999 £2 shown in a mirror for both sides
2 Gibraltar 2006 20 pence
3 United Kingdom 2011 Olympic 50 pence - shooting
4 United Kingdom 1995 20 pence
so from those numbers which coin is it you mentioned? Thanks
Yes - it is a genuine error. One that looking at it takes a while to see what the error is. Do you know?!
3 United Kingdom 2011 Olympic 50 pence - shooting
No, not extra metal (or cud I think it is known as).
Also, number 1 and 2 and 4 are coins I actually bought from eBay, and number 3 was found in change. I am annoyed at myself for getting number 1 as experience now tells me it could not be genuine.
Exactly - I have never seen one like it. For anyone still wondering - the outer 7-sided shape is alright, and the inner design with the Queen's portrait is in a smaller 7-sided shape, as usual. BUT it is misaligned so is tilted 30 degrees to the right. Hence the inner 7 corners are not aligned with the outer 7 corners.
Straight over my head. I never look for errors, they just don't interest me. There's enough stuff to collect without complicating it even more by collecting varieties and errors.
Verweis : monéphilDid you shown it to an expert? It can maybe do a false coins no?
I don't know any experts - the closest would probably be in London. I got it fairly cheaply and a 20 pence is low value anyway so not worth a forger's time I guess. Number 1 is a fake error (well, started out as a genuine coin), but again I did not pay much for it; I keep it to teach me a lesson.

I choose errors as something to collect as a theme, as I don't collect coins as such; meaning getting all countries on a map doesn't interest me (though I did get a Greenland coin as it was fairly cheap), and if I have say a 1907 coin and a 1909 coin of any particular type then that is by accident and I do not care that 1908 is missing in the middle. If I do have a theme then it would be beautiful coins I guess. I do understand where you are coming from though.
