10 paise 1979

So I was just checking the India republic coins. And I saw this new listing.

But I think in 1979 no extra type of 10 paise coins were issued except this one

So experts clear my doubt. Delete the listing or kindly explain about this new coin.

I saw that and had the same question........It'a a mule coin Akash.....one of 1979 10p  reverse and another obverse with a smaller lion (1978, 10 paise obv think)..

But the reverse description is not making any sense. Also it is not under commemorative issue. And there is no picture to verify that it was listed for a mule. There are also some other mules present in republic India coins. But they are not listed on Numista. So I think someone just made a new entry by mistake.

Krause lists it as

Aluminum, 26 mm. Obv: Asoka lion pedestal, denomination
below Rev: Emblem on square, within circle, wreath surrounds,
date below Note: Mule.
Date Mintage F VF XF Unc BU

so it follows the description in the KM world coins catalog.

It is now marked as "mule".

Thanks for changing this. Hope someone will upload some pics of the coins. After my exams I will try to find pics. There are still some modifications to do in the entry. :D
