Suggestions 2

Hello again, here's a few other suggestions I have for improving the website:

1) FRIENDS - possibility to choose 'friends' on numista and, for example, decide to allow friends only to view your collection

2) SEARCHING FUNCTION:
A) possibility to specify year interval rather than exact year (similarly for value etc)
B) possibility to specify the alphabet in which the value is written
C) possibility to specify the alphabet in which the year/inscriptions are written
D) possibility to choose what 'type' of year you're looking for: eg 1980 in "christian" should also find you the corresponding arabic coins even though they show another year
E) possibility to choose a continent

Please give feedback if possible!

1) I have to think about it. I'm not sure that having friends on Numista is very useful. However, allowing specific people to see your collection can sure be useful. Let's see what other people say.

A) Was already available for the year, now also for the value, weight and size, with some explanations
B) What about simply typing the value in the given alphabet?
C) Idem
D) You can now search either the year given on the coin or the equivalent in the Gregorian calendar
E) I'm not sure this would be very useful.

I have organized my collection by date instead of by country, and would find it useful to sort "Your Coins" by date.

2A) - sorry I hadn't realized you could do this for year already
B-C-E) This suggestions all come from the experience of having difficulty in identifying coins. Not being able to read arabic, for example, (and hence not being able to write the year/inscription) if when trying to identify the coin I could specify the alphabet, it would narrow the search quite a bit. In one specific case I had a Nepal coin I couldn't identify, written in sanskrit. First of all, thanks to a friend, I realized it was sanskrit (a small page helping you identify alphabets would be nice, too!); then I had to try and guess which countries could have sanskrit coins; if I had been able to simply look for coins with sanskrit value/inscription it would have probably been much faster.
