So I Googled "coin with a cow on it" and found Nepal. I found the Nepalese coins on Numista's catalog and actually identified a different coin of mine, but the original coin is still unidentified. The funny thing is, the cow on the unidentified coin is exactly, I mean exactly, like the cow on the Nepalese coin. The transcriptions and the whole other side are completely different, but that cow matches perfectly. The coin is brass and the non-cow side has reeds or a six-pronged candle-stick or something on it. Also, under the cow is what looks like "2026", but it could just be a look-alike, as there are no other Latin-based characters. What in the world is it?

Thanks
Hi. I assume you're new to Numista, so welcome!

It's probably Nepalese, since "2026" is definitely part of the Nepali calendar. I can help you identify your coin if you put up images of both the obverse and reverse.

I do have this coin, but didn't know that there was a 2026 Nepalese calender version as well!  :.

I have the exact coin that is shown in the pictures in the catalog. I don't know if that settles anything or not.  :P
I have a coin which I could not, at the time, identify. I looked through Numisdoc calendars and none matched the numbers on my coin, so in the Search I eventually found that Indian was the nearest to three of the four date numbers. It now appears my coin is from Nepal like yours.
There is a Numista member who has his own site that has all sorts of calendars on there ...

Mine has 2049 numbers which as stated on there is 57 years ahead of usual calendar so the converter on there makes mine 1992 date.

So on there typing your 2026 date gives the result shown below ...

"Result: 1970
Your coin was minted in the year 2027 of the Bikram Samvat era (VS)."

As the 6 is their 7 and our 6 is like E letter.
So what looks like 2026 is actually 2027 date. Calculation 2027 - 57 = 1970 date.

Not that anyone asked - since this topic was last written on a month ago, but I put this if someone makes a Search for Nepal calendar. At least I now know what to look for.  :)
