First one I thought of was a UK 3 pence at 2.6 mm. But the pound coin is 3.15 mm. So I would say mind is the UK pound coins. How thick is a cartwheel?
yours dayl
Yes, in UK the 1 pound is slightly thicker than the next, the 2 pounds coin.
I thought I only had one thick coin, but now I looked through my bag with 'Old coins' written on it, I see I have three (with a £1 for size and thickness comparison) ...
They are Russia 1772 (4.0mm), Portugal 1812 (4.0mm), France unknown year (3.5mm).
This Christina of Sweden Ore, its 48mm in size and nearly 5mm on average but varies from 4mm to 6mm - as there is some lipping of the copper near the edge. The date part is missing due to an offstrike on the reverse (But I suspect its either 1645 or 1649)
I won in an auction, the coin is so large and unweidly - I don't even have it in a flip or album, it sits in a cardboard box!
Its tiny next to some of the huge pieces that came out of Sweden at the time (Plates up to 20kg in size).
I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

This was also a sign of value - today paper is enough for us and the signal from our phone, watches and rings is enough - we have waited, and then we go back up the tree and find out that metal is an exchange value and start anew.
Ahoj -and enjoy the pre-holiday days to the fullest.
Yes, my friend Ivan. I to have some thick coins from India too. I wish you and family a happy and safe holidays. Enjoy your grand kids, and take care of yourself.
I tried to think of any thick coins at all, but couldn't really come up with any. Then I thought about N#34551 which is about 4 mm thick, so I guess it's this one, but I'm not sure.
When I think about it, I would say they are all equal - because none of them can talk, they do nothing and have to be transported anywhere.
They seem incapable of any emotion except being worn down by constant pressure and irritation and they usually cause greed, anger, avarice and a competitive ethos.
It is obvious they all have an IQ of 0, making them as equally thick as each other.

OMG! I was reading and thought to myself “What is he talking about” and “What thread is this? I thought it was about coins' thickness.”
Then I arrived to the punchline. That's a good one, mate. A very silly, but a really good one! 🤣🤣
Also I use dark and dry humour, which is generally lost on people with average or lower intelligence, so was trepidacious over replies, someone like you liking it or some pedant or halfwit moaning that its not funny or inappropriate. Plus you have to be so careful in this ultra woke/PC dominated, we may offend some socially inadequate person era.

I thought my thickest coin was going to be a 2013 Perry's victory 5 ounce silver quarter at 4.19 mm. Then I remembered I have a 33 mm coin. It's a 2022 1oz. Silver $2.00 spherical coin from Niue picturing E.T. and Elliot flying in front of the moon on a bicycle. It's from a crap issuing territory but technically it is still a coin.
Mine would be an overweight 5 kopeks, 62.01 grams and roughly 6mm at thickest.
Awesome 5 Kopeks, mines also 1780
It really is a hefty coin. Just a unit of a slab of copper pretty much
What a nice, high quality example of a kopek!
Indeed they are really heavy. I wonder what the people would've thought of that coin back in the days when it circulated…
Thank you! I just wish the text on it was as nice as it is on yours lmao
And I’ve always wondered that, it probably wasn’t too well received, but they were this size for a GOOD WHILE, so idk. Russia being Russia. They are cool as hell to have, though
Cartwheel Pennies as well, are huge. Guess we just didn’t have much use for copper back then as we do now, so we just made giant ass coins. Which I’m fine with

Copper was just very common, and they had lots of it! This is probably one of the biggest, and heaviest, coin ever made. I can't even imagine what they were thinking while making it. Here you don't ship the goods, you ship the payment. 😅
