2005 "gold" West Virginia State Quarter.

I picked up a "gold" 2005 West Virginia quarter yesterday and i'm not so sure what to think of it.  I work at a resturant and snagged it off a server because she new i was interested in it, and it definately sparked some interest.  Now, do i think it is 24k?  No!  But, it IS, if anything, coated.  Does anyone know of this?  
I will be brining it into my local coin store to get some more info.  None-the-less, it's going into a protective case and into my collection, since it's "interesting to me".

  

I have found several gold-plated coins while searching coins over the last few years, especially with half dollars and obsolete Mexican coins.  I've even found "golden" Susan Anthony dollar coins (which is a brilliant idea, by the way).  I doubt these coins have any value beyond face + novelty.
