Fake
It is a well-known coin to fake, the UK £1 - which is why in three years they will bring in a new 12-sided bimetal design. The forgers do not always match the obverse and reverse designs, or edge lettering.
P.S. I too also have three fake Celtic Cross UK £1 coins - two of them have the correct 2001 date but have wrong alignment obverse/reverse, the other is 1997 ...

and the correct years for the design are either 1996 or 2001. Edge lettering should be DECUS ET TUTAMEN for them, and the one shown above has PLEIDIOL WYF I'M GWLAD which is on 1985 1990 1995 2000 2005 2013 coins with Welsh reverse designs. Plus mine has slight alignment rotation.
