Hi. Has anyone heard of this coin (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces5488.html) being issued in a black and gold finish? Thanks.
Yes - but not for Silver Jubilee of 25 years and dated 1977 like that, but 25 years later again i.e. commemorating 50 years, so dated 2002 - and still has the same reverse of the Queen on a horse ...

After the original coin (valued at a crown i.e. 25 Pence) was released, some years later the Royal Mint issued the same size coins but revalued them as 5 Pounds and called them crown-sized.
The coin shown above is described as: 'Elizabeth II 2002 £5-Maundy Golden Jubilee gold proof cased set, FDC. Estimate £4,500. Realisation £5,290'. I found it near the end of this page ...

It makes sense also that the gold coin was dated 2002 as that was the Golden Jubilee year.  :)

Thanks. The one I've seen must have been plated or coloured afterwards then, I'm guessing, as it is definitely the Silver Jubilee version.
