Remember when I found that metal type error 1988 Bermudan cent? Well, I've done it again.
This time the surprise is with a Barbados cent dated 1991. Numista and Krause list these coins the same way: 1973-1991 are bronze KM#10, and 1992-present are copper-plated zinc KM#10a. The bronze coin weighs 3.1 grams, and the zinc cent weighs 2.5 grams.
My coin is dated 1991 and weighs 2.5 grams like KM#10a. I suspect that this is a metal type error minted during the transition from bronze to zinc in 1991-1992, and which has not been reported to publishers.
This is the second time in six months that I've stumbled upon a metal type error coin from the Caribbean. I wonder how many more error coins like these are still unreported.
