I have one of these coins that everything seems to be correct per the description. The only exception is that the edge is reeded not smooth as the description indicates. I'm assuming that the proper description for reeded is the little slatted edge that would be similar to a file. Could anyone that has information on this help me?
'Reeded' means that the edge of the coin has teeth like a gear or a cog, but much, much smaller, of course. I suppose you could describe them as 'slats', but I've always thought of them as 'gears'. Some reeding is the entire width of the edge (e.g. UK 10 New Pence), some are not (e.g. Canada 25 Cents). Hope that helps.
Hmmm....then this coin is definatley reeded. Is it possible that my coin is correct and the description here is wrong when it says smooth or is it more likely that my coin is not the genuine article?
