I am exchanging coins from a lot left to me.As a consequence most of them are very old. Whereas most of the coins listed ( and indeed the coins I want) and comparatively modern.
This far I have been exchanging on a 1:1 basis. It is difficult (for me) to judge value but is it unrealistic to expect more than this ratio for coins that are hundreds of years old?
If they are hundreds of years old and so pre industrial revolution pre 10s of millions mintages for one type certainly you can ask for more if you want relatively common stuff. But like bam777 has pointed out the coin and its condition plays a mayor role.
Like my little Roman coins here, they are around 1600-1700 years old but there are 100 millions of their kind and they are not in the best condition = not very valuable.

It's just a question of the deal. Every single one of us has the right to aim for a balanced swap.
