I have a friend who is actually in Miami for a week.
I was wondering where she can find me some 1 dollar coins. Is there a place to buy them at their face values ?

Have her go to banks and ask the tellers if they have any.  Most likely she will be able to get as many (with regards to quantity) as you want.  The only thing that will be a challenge will be how many different ones, with regards to KM# and mint mark, she will be able to get.  If you care about mint mark and/or position ("A" and "B") then make sure she brings a magnifying glass with her.

She will only be able to find up to 2011 after that the coins weren't minted for circulation

Thank you for your replies.
I will ask her to go to the bank tomorrow to try to get some coins. I just checked on internet about the position A or B, because I have none of them, I will not take care of that. Just have one of each will be enough ( for start   ).

The 1 dollar coins are difficult to find in shops, quite rare she told me.
