Hello,
I have the coin shown below. When checking it into Numista I saw some different from km 656 https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces48237.html
HUN.BOH in the lettering instead of HU.BO
and some differences in details.
Is it the same coin ? Is it the HS variant (the sheet has the HG type) ? Or another coin ?
Silver, 29mm, 6.5gr
Thanks,
André

Hi!
I think that your coin has another KM number and it is not a variant of mentioned coin. Unfortunately, I don't know which KM number it is.

It is also # 214 in this list http://mek.oszk.hu/09700/09705/pdf/munzen2.pdf,
that mentions the H S marks (for Hermannstadt-Schickmayer), and a Hess number 1383 for the previous 1777 coin. And you can go up the serie but I get lost ! It does not seem to stop at 1773 is in Krause.
Krause obviously simplified the types of those Austro-Hungarian coins, so i don't know.

I have also the same problem. My coin is from German States and I have found it in Numista accept one little difference. The only difference is in one letter, like C instead of K or something like that.
Hello,
Some more on that coin:
I found this on www
and that
So there are
1777 HG with HUN BOH in legend
1779 HS with HUN BOH in legend (same as the NGC picture)
1778 HS with HUN BOH in legend (mine)
Those 3 look the same, so it is not that HS differ from HG, but they differ from the coin on our sheet (HU BO in legend, base of bust somewhat narrower, and wreath different - see particularly laurel branch shoerter with less leaves).
Maybe a difference due to date ? Earlier coins versus older coins ?
If no more info comes, I'll stick to the "varieties exist" of our usual catalogue
Cheers
André
