Found my first fake British pound!

Apparently about 3% of British pound coins are fake. Ever since I heard that, I knew I had to get one. But it turns out that fakes are hard to find when you want to find them, so it's been a bit of an adventure so far

At last, I found the fake of my dreams.

The giveaways:
1. The Queen is really washed out
2. You can't see it, but the edge lettering looks terrible
3. The pound coin changes its design every year. The counterfeiters were too stupid to use the correct design for 1996

Luckily they are hard to find, so not many forgers bother. It is one year since I got that coin and have not seen another since.

     

P.S. Though this week I got some forged pound coins, dated 1996 and 2003 ...

 Both have poor edge lettering and milling, and poor obverse/reverse alignment especially 1996 coin.

 The 1996 has wrong reverse for that year, but they got the 2003 correct at least.

I only know the fake coins were made in Holland haha
