I am trying to identify a 1924 1 Anna coin in the catalogue. My coin has no bead under the date, but it says there are Bombay minted coins with no mint marks, too. So is there any way to tell if my coin is from Bombay or Calcutta?

Heres the link

According to Fred Pridmore's book (part IV, Vol 2), Bombay mint started placing a bead mintmark under date from 1923 onward for 1 anna coins. All coins with the 1923 date were minted in Bombay
Calcutta mint started minting 1 anna coins in 1924 without a bead under date. All coins with a 1924 date and without a bead under date should be from the Calcutta mint. 1924 coins minted in Bombay had a bead under the date
The confusion comes from the Paul Stevens/Randy Weir book 'The Uniform coinage of India' that reports 1924 coins without bead under date for the Bombay mint... this is probably a mistake in the book.
The two 1924 Bombay date lines in Numista have to be combined. Will try to get it done soon
(Edit: This is now combined)

A simple answer to your question - Your coin, 1924 with no bead under date is from the Calcutta mint.
Thanks for the detailed response
