same
Nice to see some old names in the forum, you guys have been too quiet.

My grandfather flew all the missions depicted in Band Of Brothers!
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Looking for pre 1783 coins

That's very insightful (I like what you did there!)

I'm not sure to have it but I think I should find it if not:

I am a bit of a WW2 nut.I dont go one day without watching something WW2 related (Those in the UK will know what I mean with the channel "Yesterday")

If anyone else has a big interest in WW2 then you should check out the movie "Fury". or one of my favourites "Der.Untergang" made in 2004 depicting the last few hours before Berlin fell and Hitler topped himself, like a re enactment, language is in German to give it more authenticity with subs. it is a must for any WW2 (I dont want to put "enthusiast", feels wrong when it is talking about WW2) you get what I mean.

This is the small few I have accumulated so far.

I used to have a lot more WW2 Nazi coinage but got rid of all those with little to no value, leaving the 8 in the middle of the page and then commemorative WW2 ally coinage surrounding the German coins to depict the fall of the third Reich and Berlin.

I also have the end of  WW2 Dove of peace circulation £2, as well as a sterling silver proof version. I have put it all back in my safe and forgot to take a pic of those. not worth the time getting them out again.

This is the exact coin I have.

I have an aUNC 1994 50p and I hold it close to my heart because I can remember getting it. My nana & granda were war children and went to within days of becoming evacuee's as we live in a big port town. My granda's dad was in the merchant navy and travelled as far as Australia and Fiji during the war.

I can imagine how bad it was given the endless times I asked them what it was like. That 50p is special because of what it represents to me, I'm almost 100% sure my granda would have given it too me, this year I bought the UNC Battle of Britain 50p for the same reason I know he would have loved it !
