i have found one with out reeded edge is it common i noticed on a different year theres a reference to them being on sri lanka planchett rare could this be a different planchett on mine since edge is not reeded or is mine more likely to just have not been reeded any one else come across this
I had the same question, five weeks ago - see above, including photos of the ones I have! My KM# 65 is 1968, and I also have a 5 cents KM# 80 of 1987; pleased to see now someone else has one
Fine I will get pictures for you but will take a few days, are they circulated or brand new? If they are circulated then they are just warn examples that I see a lot of.
it would have to have been done purposely if so i have 12 of them and none even seem to have 1 single reed starting to wear off let alone all of them coin is in pretty nice condition would i say new no but it should still have reeds unless someone put it in the grinder yes ive seen us quarters do that to but they always seem to be all beat up when that happens and you can usually tell tthey were reeded in places not entirely smooth all the way around in unison
This is what I got from the till this morning. Dates are 1966, 68,74, 78, 80, 81, 84, 92, and an 01 for reference. They could have been done deliberatly, but that would be one bored person. If it was uncirculated I would say it was an error, but as they are not I would just say it is a well circulated coin.
i guess so as it appears good thing my 1977 is not like that then only my 1971 common wear i shall call it then no luck with errors or variations so far
