Same rules as in the coin thread except that no limit for dates or posts per day.

Kolikko99 that may be fun. But here in the US they don't make every year, but with the world there such be no problem. Next week I will have to look. I am very busy right now. See you here next week.

It is, what it is, or is it.

Same problem here in the EU and that makes this more difficult than the coin version.
Does the year have to be on the note or can it also have a year markers like Vietnam the first 2 numbers of the serial are the last 2 numbers of the year or signatures etc. and what is with the depiction of valid notes with relative high quaility scans (should there be a resolution cap ... I made mine 650 pixels long)?

2014 - EU - 10 Euro - P#22e

Because of the difficulty will it be a slow thread with several notes per year in a given time or post one --> next year?

one note per year and yes it can have year markers
Hm this thread seems not very popular ... but I can pull a solo until 2004  B)  then the holes in my date range start to appear.

2013 - EU (Spain) - 5 Euro - P#21v

I don't have 21st century banknotes other than the ones in my pocket but when we get to the 90s I can do solo for almost every year for the next 90 years.
As it happens, I also have a Spanish 5-euro from 2013... luckily that's not the only year I have in my collection. Here is one of those almost-UNC notes that you can get from a currency exchange if it is a slow day at the counter and the staff is friendly.

Mexico, 200 pesos, January 23, 2012.

That is pretty impressive!  I have and always will be a type collector, and hence I don't buy things in series.  I am assuming your notes collection is a type collection.  Is that correct?

I have very few notes of the same type so yes I'm a type collector and if you're ever need a certain type of banknote just ask so I can swap or sell ;) .
I can do 2008, 2006, 2004, 2003, 2001 and 2000
2002: check (and not only euros)
2009: check
2008: check
2000: check
2005: check
2003: check
2004: check

Just missing 2007 to make a full decade.

PS: some banknotes , like euros, don't have minting years but copyright years...

Yes indded I heard about that and imedeatly forgot it  :°  thanks for the reminder
so I will have to write EU as issuing "country" for the Europa Series in my lists from now on ... because if this would make the note French then alle Sim-Dollars, many Cambodian Riels and dozens of other currencies would be German (thanks to Giesecke & Devrient  :| )

A very beautiful note I think but does not really circulate on the main islands of Japan.
I think it had something to do with it not functioning in vending machines and this is a big no-no in Japan  :D

Why would it say 2002 on the top?
Verweis : chomp-masterPS: some banknotes , like euros, don't have minting years but copyright years...
They keep the year and put the signature of the current president of the European Central Bank on.
Duisenberg: 2002 (all denominations)
Trichet: 2005, 2009 (certain denomination for each year)
Draghi: 2011 (all denominations), 2013 (5€) ,2014 (10€) and this November (20€)
The same applies in the US.  The dates are series dates and NOT printing dates.  Once a change occurs (e.g., signatures, etc), a new series date is issued.  The date doesn't change for years.   For instance, the current $5 note has a Series 2013 date on it. You can find more about it here:

The same with Bank of England too according to my £5 note. In some countries the year/date is the year of the governmental authorization to emit the note.

Canadian Tire Money, 10 cents, 1996

This coupon currency can be exchanged for merchandise and gasoline, so many Canadian businesses (not just Canadian Tire) informally accept it. You get Canadian Tire Money when you pay with debit or cash at Canadian Tire stores. Canadian Tire Money is printed by professional banknote companies and has security features comparable to that of any other banknote. The iconic "currency" was introduced in 1958 but unfortunately Canadian Tire is slowly discontinuing it in favour of an electronic rewards program :snif:
