Hello,
I have a coin with 1 side very worn.
The side with the head looks like this:

My coin is copper - I think.
Weight: 2.8g
Diameter: 19mm
Has anybody an idea what coin it could be?
Thanks
Peter
Can you post a picture? Then ai can at least try to help you.

I can do in the evening.
The problem is the 2nd side of the coin: it´s nearly plain. But I will make a scan.
Thanks for help
I searched on here for Louis XIV and from 182 results >

There may be others, and if so they have no pictures and/or no size on here currently.

Maybe you´re right. My coin has nmore weitht, but it´s no modern coin.
Here the pics:

That coin I guessed/found earlier is not like yours. This one above has the same lettering spaced correctly above the crown; not sure of size of it - maybe 19mm like yours.

That I found is described as ...
1 liard 1657
Cu
LIARD DE FRANCE
L XIIII ROY DE FR ET DE NA 1657

Do you think the nearly worn side has LIARD DE FRANCE written there?
Then again - though it looks like yours, it is probably just that coin in the link in your first post, the 23mm one.  8.
Yours does have  L XIIII ROY DE FR ET DE NA 1658  though.

Louis XIV

This one (at top of page) with same obverse lettering is 19mm ...

but is 1643 not 1658, so maybe the diameter makes it  double tournois coin?

I put it in my collection as
1 liard 1657
Cu
LIARD DE FRANCE
L XIIII ROY DE FR ET DE NA 1657

And the truth we will never know ;-)
Thanks for your help!

no, i don't think it is a double tournois, because those are 20 millimeters, not 19. I think it is a liard.

Now the coin has 19mm. Maybe 300 years ago 20mm? Difficult because the coin is very used

almost impossible. The coin does not lose 1 full milliliter without being cut.
