Hello and happy new year everyone,
It is more likely a question, than request, but I think it belogs here.
Firstly: Facts
Slovakia 10 Halierov (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces2487.html) and 20 halierov (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces2488.html) were demonetized at the end 2003.
But in 2004!! some Slovak annual coin sets included 10/20 halierov in Silver!. However date on the coins is 1993 and not 2004.
You can see the date of coins here: http://www.sberatelske-mince.cz/sady-minci-slovensko/1660-sada-slovensko-2004-proof-s-ag-mincemi.html
There are few other photos of the sets on the internet. Only information I found was mintage: 4000+2000 Proof (http://www.mince.cz/cs/katalog-minci/modul/zobrazeni/soubor/697)
While being already demonetised, coins could still be exchange in a bank for some time - actually until January 2014 (http://www.nbs.sk/en/banknotes-and-coins/exchange-of-money/exchange-of-slovak-banknotes-and-slovak-coins) So, while they were not legal tender, they still had the value.
So the question is: When does the coin becomes a token? And then, where this coin/token should be placed - under 10/20 halierov coins we already have as a variety? Or is it a brand new coin/new alloy? Or is it a mere token?
Will be glad for any thoughts, as I am puzzled.
